City of Love

I am feeling totally off my game at the moment. Not into the crafting, not into the cleaning or organizing, just Meh. LOL My china cabinet sat empty for weeks after I cleared out the Christmas stuff. I finally decided I should fill it up this week, but figuring out what to put in there for Valentine's Day is a challenge for me.

This year I put all my millinery flowers in rose teacups, added some glass bead pics in vases, the vintage candy boxes my husband gave me last year, and called it good. It was a little empty though.
When I saw the gorgeous glittery Eiffel Towers on Jerusalem's blog , I knew they were the perfect filler for the cabinet. I just cut and glittered some card stock.
My most precious Valentine collectibles are my two old cake toppers, picked up at a garage sale and a flea market this summer.
They are so sweet, and I really adore them. I wish they were easier to find, I would have loads of them!

P.S.I wish it were easier to take pictures in the winter. It is so hard to find any decent light. Guess I had better get on figuring out that new camera, eh?

  1. Oh Sarah, I'm totally feeling the same way. I had grand schemes of making some Valentine decorations, but I still have yet to accomplish that. And after stripping my mudroom of decor, it has sat for two weeks naked, but I don't have any inspiration for it.
Love your glitter towers, kudos for you for whipping those up so quick!
    Have you finished your Valentines?

  6. January is a tricky time for the mehs., isn't it?

Your Eiffel towers are lovely - hopefully that sparkle will help eliminate the mehs. completely!

  7. Gorgeous cake toppers! And your towers are very fun. Unfortunately I have glitter-a-phobia. I love the way it looks but hate the way it sheds everywhere!

  8. Sooo cute! Great idea on the cake toppers. I've been feeling bleh too. I think it is post-holidays, middle of the winter blues. I bought a heart decoration at Michaels and that is all I have.

  15. Gosh, those cake-toppers bring back memories of walking to the neighbourhood bakery with my grandmother, and how as a little kid, I was more excited to see the wall of vintage cake-toppers there than I was the doughnuts ...
