Can you dig it?

While thrifting on Thursday I found this 1973 fad of the month craft kit. It was a dollar, so I snatched it up without even really looking at it, thinking if nothing else I would use the fabric. Once I opened it I discovered that it was complete, with all the parts, the directions and the picture card it was originally mailed with.

Since the Husky is freshly repaired and I have been dying to sew, I set about putting it together right away. The directions were a real beast, and it is lined with 35 year old vinyl, which wasn't easy to work with, but the bag is so fab.
Or maybe I should say the bag is groovy.

Dy-no-mite!

P.S. Is anyone else watching (and loving!) Swingtown? All I need now is some of Janet's tupperware and I am good to go. :-)

P.P.S. I have been sewing. A lot. Expect a lot of sewing this week on the old blog.

Totally love the bag! And I have become 100% completely addicted to Swingtown! DH keeps asking me if there is something he should know about me! HAHA! Nope, honey ~ just enjoying a good TV show!!!

How are things going on your end? Is DH back in town?

That could have been a bag I used in the 60's or 70's.

Love Swing Town

That is so great. It is totally fun. I can't believe you found that. My mom used to get the craft of the month thing. I had forgotten all about that. She would make whatever it was that came in the kits. Your blog jogged my memory on this one to think about the things she had made with those kits. Ah nostalgia.

It's so much cuter than I imagined!

And for some reason, the phrase "35 year old vinyl" is getting to me today. lol

A bit late to comment but yes, I love Swingtown. Janet is our favorite character although I love how stylish Trina is. When we returned home from vacation I was horrified to see that our tivo didn't recored last weeks episode. I finally watched it last not online. Incredible show.
