Speechless?

Do not ask me how I am lucky enough to have found another gorgeous quilt this year. I will not be able to tell you the answer. We just seem to keep finding each other.

I wish I could find a time of day to get a better photo of the whole quilt for you.
Look at all the gorgeous little prints.
Pink and greens
And purples and blues
and red and white.

Love.

This one is in amazing condition. It seems like it has never been washed. No real stains to note, only one or two open seams.

But it is a bit of a mystery.

It was quilted with a machine zig zag stitch. The fabrics seem 1930/1940 to me, with no hint of the 1950's, but machine zig zagging is a late 1950's/early 1960's invention for the home sewer as far as I understand it.

Maybe it was just quilted many years later?

We all know how easily that can happen. :-)

YAY you! What wonderful hands for a quilt to find itself in! I wish I knew anything about them-I guess just appreciating them is ok, right? Hope you're feeling much better! xo-Mel

It's me again. I am going to post some better pictures of my quilt. I know at this point it's just a cutter quilt. Do you think it's worth anything for retail sale?
Thank you so much for your time.

Are you still soliciting questions? Here's mine: How many quilts are you up to these days? This one is another great one - and I think your theory is on the mark.

It's absolutely gorgeous!
You deserve finding a treasure like that when you went out with the symptoms you had. Hope you're doing better.

WOW! You did it again.

My grandmother made a quilt from her mother-in-law's scraps - so it's possible the whole quilt was made later with fabrics from an earlier time.

Oh the quilt is beautiful. I never find things like that! The only quilts I seem to find are the ones that are about 5 years old and made in china and damaged so much I wouldn't let the dog lie on them!
