The view from your chair

Sorry for the photoless, rather boring post, but Jack is off to preschool soon and I need to spend the day turning our house into a Halloween wonderland for him. (Yes, he is still asking me 20 times a day where our Halloween decor is, and I want it to be a surprise.)

But to the point, I need to know what ye olde blog looks like from your chair.

I am pretty sure that if you are running windows XP with either Internet Explorer or Firefox that the font here is sort of swirly. (At least on post titles, sidebar info and the blog banner.)

On Windows Vista with IE on this new machine it is some sort of HUGE clunky font, and all over the place.

I have no idea what it might look like on a Mac.

What does it look like for you? (And if you know what platforms and browsers you are using, I am interested in that. I wonder if it is that way for everyone on vista?)

We need try and do some blog repair this weekend, but I need a better feel for whats happening on other computers.

:-) Thank you kindly!

I'm running Firefox on Linux and nothing is swirly. It's just a basic font.

:)

I am on a Mac, running Firefox. The font looks kind of comic sans - ish. Pretty basic. No swirlies that I see.

IE on XP here and fonts are swirly. I refuse to change to Vista as too many of my friends had problems and ended up reinstalling XP.
Sorry to hear you are also having problems- computers are so frustrating!

I am on a Mac with foxfire and it looks good. No swirlies I do not think, but I am not sure what a swirlie is;)

Windows XP and a Firefox browser. It's a cute font, sort of kid-like, no serifs. I swear I used to see script in the body, though. And the headline is script. It looks fine to me - nothing way outsized. Boy, is this a boring comment.

I am using Vista on IE. You posts look like a basic font. Your titles and sidebar items are in the curly, cursive-y font.

I got no swirls, either. I'm on Firefox, too. Looks good, though.

Hey, looking forward to seeing pictures of the Halloween decorations!

I am on Firefox widows XP and the font is swirly. But, there have been times when I had a mac with firefox when it did show up as chunky, so I know what you are talking about.

Titles, sidebars, banner all swirly on my Vista with Firefox. And quite lovely, I'd say.

I'm not computer savvy, I know enough to play around but when something goes wrong, I'm hopeless. Anyway, I have a basic computer, internet explorer and your font is swirly/cursive. Pretty to look at, kind of hard to read.

I'm running Vista using IE and the font is a nice cursive looking script for the title and sidebar and the comic sans for the posts.

I'm using Firefox on a mac. No swirlies. I took a quick photo for you from my chair of the screen that I will try to email to you tonight after my knitting group leaves. Now I have to run and work on the laundry while I am child-free for only about 20 more minutes!

I'm not an expert, this is just a guess, but I think maybe it has to do with what fonts someone has programmed into their computer as to what they see. It looks like you are using one that I've used before, but I don't remember the name of it. But I have discovered that if someone is reading your web page/blog whatever, if they don't have that particular font installed, then it just shows up as whatever their default font is in their system. Does that make any sense? Anyways.. I like it.. and your page is very pretty and fresh looking.
