Rediscovered

When I was emptying my sewing room of all the Christmas related stuff I rediscovered these tiny yo-yo's I had stuck in a jar when I bought them at the flea market this summer.
Since I was on a "finish it up" sewing kick, I spent some time putting them together into a little mat.
They are tiny things, she made them not much bigger than a quarter. And I love the 1930's-1940's prints.
A happy little mat in the winter sunshine.

P.S. Did you hear that Country Home is the latest magazine to stop publishing as of March 2009? Major bummer. And the February issue was so good too. Sigh.

ard it this morning on our local news. Meredith Publishing makes it, right here in Des Moines and 100 local folks are losing there jobs because of it. So, so sad. Meredith's products are all so awesome (Better Homes & Gardens, American Patchwork & Quilting, Good Housekeeping, etc.) it's so sad to see the economy bring any of them to an end!

Country Home is leaving? I thought I just got my renewal a couple of weeks ago. How sad.
I have a bunch of yo-yo's from a broken clown. I could make them into a mat too. Thanks for the thought.

That little mat looks so sweet under the lamp!

Oh, I'll miss that mag. I'd rather they give up Better Homes than Country Homes.

The yo-yo's look great. I hate the thought of all the inspiration we will be missing out on because of this wretched economy....Sigh

You're always taunting me with cute stuff I want to make, Sarah. Ok, this is doable for me. I love both sides - super, super cute!

So sad about the mags. Sad, sad, sad!

I also loved all the loot you got with the 13.00-man you lucked out that day!
