I want to cut this up
I saw this pottery barn kids bumper at the thrift and considered buying it. But I don't need another (useless for safety reasons) bumper and it was pricey.
And then I realized it was 75% off.
And I am crazy about it.
But it doesn't work in Sammi's room and what I am crazy about are these:
totally awesome, 
super cute appliques.
I want to cut it up and use the appliques/fabric for other projects.
But how can I cut it up? It is really, really nice.
What to do?

Cut it up! The waste is if it doesn't get used or enjoyed in any form : )
Cut it up! If you don't, you won't use it and then you won't get to enjoy it at all. The world will be okay with one less bumper pad, even if it is from Pottery Barn. :) You will make it even better!
Why not? Use it like you want to. It's yours! PS I love it that your sock is showing in the photo - I do that ALL the time!
CUT IT! It's nice, but you wont use it, so don't worry about it!!

You couuld make a soft book out of it for Sammi. Then put it aside for her kids after that :-)
I would cut it up too. Better to get some use out of it. But I also like the book idea too.
You can cut it up in good conscience because those things are no longer considered safe. What if you kept in intact and someone else used it? Or, some well-meaning thrift employee somewhere down the road just threw it away because it's on a CPSC list? Snip, snip!
I see giant fabric blocks in your future! Cut, piece and sew cubes. Easy peasy.
Cut it and mail that elephant to me...I'm dying to put it on a shirt :)
