Jack (in need of yet another haircut!) Plays with his legos in the new area of the playroom. Redoing it doubled the size, but we still haven't chosen a paint color to cover up the stripes. Choices, choices. Jack is also very good at helping clean up his toys these days, and for that mommy is grateful!

I have been working on the Easter decorations. I can only do this at night, since during the day I cannot move up and down the hallway while Jack is napping (it wakes him up) and obviously, I cannot work on this kind of stuff while he is awake! I keep all the holiday decorations in my beautiful old cabinet now, away from babies and cats. Jack gets up every morning and peeks through the glass to see what kinds of treasures I have put in there the night before.

And more easter. (Isn't my purple bunny scary? LOL)

Boy, he looks like a kid and not a baby at all anymore, doesn't he?

I suppose it is time for an update from the Jack chronicles...He continues to be a talking maniac. He has really mastered two word phrases (including the ever popular "get down", which he is currently saying roughly 2 million times a day.) He also says things like " want some", "lay down", "diaper on", "nap time", "bunny", "music", and "juice". Just yesterday he started calling for Dad all the time, no matter where Dad is, "Daddddddddddddddddeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy!"

He is going through his "clingy" phase (about time perhaps?). He wants to be on my lap or right next to me 24 hours a day.

Sleeping is still a bit challenging, some days he isn't napping at all, other days he is only napping 20 minutes. This makes nighttime tough.

We are trying to have another go at going without the Zantac. I am not sure how well that is going to work though. :-/.

He wants to be DOWN all the time, which means he is not content to ride in the backpack, the stroller or the cart. This is combined with not holding hands at all ever for any reason, so going out is a bit of a challenge at the moment.

Jack is also becoming ever more attached to his blanket. These days we are hardly without "blankie" for even a moment. We eat with it, go outside with it, sleep with it. (I am surprised he doesn't want to bathe with it!) I read in a book that blankets give toddlers courage, that explains the rest of his attitude, an overdose on courage, LOL!

We are in the midst of redoing his playroom to give him even more space. I want to be able to set up an art table, since he is now really enjoying coloring and painting (i.e. making a mess!)

Photos of the new playroom to come as soon as I choose a paint color!

Jack loves playing peek-a-boo in those pop up tunnels.

We had our only "real" snow day of this season (and on the first day of Spring!) last night. The snow is so heavy that the trees which are normally standing tall enough for me to walk under are touching the ground.

Maybe this isn't so bad after all, I can walk in it...

Ok, I changed my mind. I hate this stuff!

Please Dad, just let me go in the house. Please?

Look what I found this morning! My very own leprechaun. Isn't he sweet? Happy St Patricks Day!

With the weather occasionally being warmer, I made a wish list of outside toys. On the top of the list was a sandbox. Last weekend at a rummage sale, we found this awesome crab sandbox (with cover!) for $1!!!!! Jack loves it.

Jack, the leader of our very own 3 ring circus, tries to put a bead necklace leash on the cat. This week he has also tried to insist that the cat wear his blanket, and that the cat talk on the phone. LOL

It's like a scene from "When Babies Attack!" when Jack is done playing in the kitchen.

Some days there just is no having lunch without blankie.

Jack insisted I put his new shirt on him this morning, over his pajamas! Toddlers have interesting ideas about fashion. (I wonder what they would say about last night's Oscar fashions????)

Hi Nicole! Thanks for stopping by. Jack's hands are amazingly large compared to this one week old photo him. That is a quarter he is holding in his left hand. (And boy is he orange from the jaundice!)

In the past week Jack has managed to: give himself a black eye (you can see it in this photo, at least it isn't too bad), learn the sign and the word "help", learn the word diaper, require safety pins to keep anything with a zipper on him (the nudist phase, lol), grow completely out of his 18 month clothes, break through both bottom molars, go back to sleeping through the night, transition to one daytime nap, and attempted to eat us out of house and home. He can also go from this smiley faced kid to...

...to this in a nano-second. We took him to JC Penny for portraits this week, and he cried through a lot of them. The photog took one of him in hysterics and an older woman in the waiting room saw it on the computer screen. She said to me, "you ought to print that one you know. You may not think it is funny now, but in years to come you will look back at it and smile." I was thinking to myself, "ha! if you only knew how often he did that and how many sad faced pictures I end up with!" Needless to say, I did not pay $4 for the crying one at JC Penny.
