Birthday plans for a 2 year old!

Jack sure was tiny almost 2 years ago! He is going to be a whopping 2 years old one month from today. I think that this year's party is going to be an "Orange" party. Like the Martha pink party, but, well, orange. I bought loads of orange tissue balls and fans from Oriental Trading, and I am going to make an orange garland, something like this.

I need cupcake ideas and invite ideas! Have any ideas for me?

I really like the paper doll invite they show with the pink party, could you do something like that with some really pretty orange patterned papers, and in a boy shape?

For Sylvie's 1st birthday I'm ordering the lion birthday invites from this site: http://www.blonde-designs.com

Almost 2???? Holy cow woman! I love the picture of the tiny Jack. I'll try to brainstorm for some ideas. (Alexandra)

My fave site for cupcakes is http://www.cupcakeblog.com/ but the site is more about flavours and I'm not sure if you're looking for decorating ideas or flavour ideas. But there are some tempting carrot cupcake and pumpkin cupcake recipes to be found there.

My first thought on cupcakes was using those sunkist orange gummy slices somehow (not those thick orange wedges). Then when someone else mentioned pumpkin flavored cupcakes I thought of the pumpkin shaped candycorn. But perhaps unusual flavored cupcakes isn't the thing fora 2 yo b-day party.

Focusing on frosting, various shades and sizes of orange polka-dots. Frosting would probably be the most cost-effective, but I'm not sure about easiest.

There is also the 52 cupcakes blog at http://52cupcakes.blogspot.com and chockylit of cupcake blog has a citrus category here http://cupcakeblog.com/index.php/category/ingredients/citrus/

Hi there. What say you?
