Argh, I need help!

A yo-yo WIP, that my husband has been helping me with. Hopefully it will be finished this afternoon. Who knew that yo-yo's were such a time intensive project?

I really want to change my blog banner using one of my own photographs, but, despite spending way too much time trying to figure it out, I am clueless. Can anyone help me? I would appreciate it! (I guess I should be more specific. I know how to change the code to put a link to a new photo in there, but, I cannot get it sized correctly. My banner ends up only showing a tiny corner of the photograph, or the middle of it, or some other bizarre thing.)

    Have you tried http://www.bloggerforum.com/ ?
When I was with blogger it helped me with SO many questions and changes I wanted to make.
    Happy New Year!!!

  2. Oh, this is going to sound terrible because I really do love your blog so much! But...your fonts are driving me nuts! I like them and use them myself quite a bit, but for a blog I find them hard to read. And you know more than I do about changing things around! My teenage daughter is going to help me with mine as a Christmas gift. Happy New Year! (Hope I didn't offend!)

  3. Can't wait to see what the yo-yos will become! I need to learn to make those things. I have fantasies of having a yo-yo coverlet for the bed. If I start now I might have enough yo-yos in about 5 years, LOL!

I will be anxiously watching your comments to see if anyone has instructions on the banner thing. I've been wondering the same thing, especially since the change to Blogger Beta. May have to check out the site that Krista listed!

  4. When you find out ,let us all know!!! I agree with Heidi ,can't wait to see what that yo-yo piece turns into!

I'm glad to hear someone else thinks yo-yos are time consuming. Your's are very pretty.
I don't know if I can help with your banner question. I have learned what little I know through trial and error. My blog is with typepad so it may be different, but first you have to determine how many pixels wide your page is. Then crop your picture so that it is no wider (in pixels). I think mine is 700 pixels wide by 150 -200 pixels high.

Sorry, clueless too! Happy New Year!

  7. I like the new picture! It looks lovely.

  8. Bettsi, because every computer is different, it is possible that the font my blog is loaded in is not available on your computer, so your machine is reverting to something other than what I see. I know the stuff in the sidebar is somewhat difficult to read because of the colors/fonts, and that is set to be changed as soon as I have another moment, but the text of the posts themselves should be readable. (At least when I changed the font everyone reading at the time said it was.) Also, you can change the size of the font in your own browser under "view" "text size". Finally, if you read through bloglines.com, it should be a pretty standard font.

  9. I like the new photo in the header. But I have to second bettsi's comment about the font! In my computer, it also comes up as super swirly, and while it's pretty, it's super hard to read. You're right, I can read it on bloglines, but the photos don't always load. Just my two cents. I love everything else about your blog!

Hi there. What say you?
