On the fourth day of Halloween

The Great Pumpkin gave to me:
A rerun. The felt Halloween advent calendar I made last year, inspired by the Pottery Barn Kids version. I am knee deep in trying to make that owl costume today and trying to entertain a busy 3 year old on a cold, rainy day! So I am taking the easy way out today. This thing was a real pain to make, but I still love it this year.
While we are having reruns, we might as well revisit the owl treat bag from last year also!

Ok, back to that pile of felt. If anyone has any brilliant owl costume photos/patterns/ideas, please shoot them my way. I am flying a bit blind on this one. :-)

  1. That treat bag is adorable! Is he going to use it again this year to go along with his owl costume?

  3. GAHHH! What I make with felt looks like a 1st grade class project. (She says from experience...) Your kiddo is going to be a mighty cute owl - heck, he could just go wrapped in that amazing owl quilt! Thanks for the button offer. I'd love to find some cool vintage buttons, so if you do find some, feel free to pick them up for me & I'll happily reimburse you! Every jar of them I find here is ridiculously overpriced. Thanks so much!

  4. wow! the advent calendar is amazing! I never saw the PBK version, but I can't imagine it being half as cute as this...

And the treat bag? I'm feeling a little covetous over here - it's darling!

  5. What a great idea for a Halloween advent calendar. If I had a nickel for every time one of the boys asked me when Halloween was, I'd be a rich woman.

Look online at better homes and gardens site. They have a section of easy costumes, one of which is an adorable fluffy owl. Good luck! Gill.

  9. Love the treat bag and calendar. I thought about making a calendar, but seem to be running out of time. :)

I'm behind in my blog reading, but if you still need examples of owl costumes, here's a cute one: http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=464759

  10. I had to go looking for this after you left that comment on my blog about the Thanksgiving calendar. I bet it was hard! Maybe that's why they charge so much for them, come to think of it. Good work. I hope he loves it. Enjoy.
