Bias Tape Pillow

I have to admit that for me this was the most obvious project for the bias tape. I cut it into strips and made a log cabin style block, which I then sewed into a pillow.
I really wanted it to be bigger, but I was worried about having enough of the tape for all of the projects I have spinning in my head for it, so I went with a smallish size.

Is your head starting to spin with bias tape ideas yet?

P.S. I see that my chair there is looking d-i-r-t-y on the arms. I bought those chairs 9 years ago at a hotel liquidator for $20 bucks (with matching ottoman). They are still comfortable and solid as a rock. They have withstood kids, cats, many, many hours nursing a small baby and more.

Why can't I find a hotel liquidator here in St Louis? I need a new couch. LOL

  1. Despite the fact that I still don't know what bias tape *is* (I'm assuming it is not tape that is biased, say, against people who aren't crafty?), I REALLY like that pillow.

  2. Hi Sarah--

Thanks for the blog visit and note! I thought that quilt was fun, too. It'll eventually get sold. I'm afraid that my inspired quilt will look nothing like it.

I LOVE all you bias tape ideas! Very creative!! Please keep in touch---

  4. I'm loving all these bias tape projects. I think I had a big roll of this one time (blue and white polka dots) and I thought I'd never use it and well, you know the rest of the story.

  7. Oh my gosh! That pillow is so pretty. I have tons of bias tape. I buy it at every estate sale that has sewing stuff. I need to try to make a pillow like that. You did a great job Sarah!

  8. The pillow is really great. Was it easy to sew through the bias tape? I just made some bunting and my bias tape was thick and I think it blunted my needle. Hmm. Hotel liquidators. Never would have thought of that!

  9. fun stuff! Way to go for thinking out of the box - I usually only think to use bias tape for it's intended purpose(s). Thanks for the ideas!
