Be afraid

Life is just wierd at our house at the moment.

For starters, I am still sick. 12 days later. I am starting to get desperate. I went to the doctor yesterday*, and am now taking some sort of scary antiobiotic that has, well, tummy trouble warnings ALL OVER the bottle. I am trying not to think about that. LOL

Apparently there are so many sick people around here right now that there is actually a prescription cough medicine shortage. Go figure.

Jack is sick now too.

My being sick this long means our house is going to crap. This morning I saw something on the cat that I feared was some sort of blood. But no, that is just oatmeal and berries glued to the cat.
This is what my sewing room looks like at the moment. I am too sick to clean up anything, and it is in the process of reorganization, but still, it is s-c-a-r-y.
I got the brilliant idea that this cabinet would be better put to use holding a million tiny containers of things instead of holding fabric that I couldn't access because the drawers didn't slide easily. So, Dave is altering it for me. But it is slow going, and that means there are saws lying around in there in addition to the usual pins, needles, and scissor hazards.

It was 80 degrees again yesterday. 80 degrees in February. I was so hot and coughing so damn much that I turned on the a/c. In February.

When we went to vote this morning all of the little old ladies in the line felt the need to comment on Jack's bed head. Yes, he needs a haircut, thanks for noticing. (Usually my kid is groomed. I am a bit neurotic about him looking decent: nails trimmed, hair combed, face washed, clean clothes.) LOL

I have completely given in to the pleas to watch more Thomas. TV limits? What TV limits? Resistance right now is futile.

Blogger is apparently never going to fix the spell checker.

Don't say I didn't warn you, I told you to be afraid. :-)

*Jack very sweetly told everyone in the waiting room that "My mama is sick." Then he wanted to know why my doctor didn't give us a cookie like his doctor does.

  3. Oh, I hope you feel better soon. It's so hard to be sick and be a mommy. I cannot believe it was 80 there! Crazy. We're expecting another foot of snow tonight on top of the 8 inches we got last Friday.

I hope the antibiotics don't affect your tummy. When I was on all those antibiotics I had to stop reading the side effects. One of them said it could cause kidney failure. Yikes!

  5. Oh sweetie! Get better soon. Don't worry about your house, you can always clean later and TV for a few days isn't going to kill Jack.
    Take care of YOURSELF!!!

  6. Feel better soon!

(The spell check thing is driving me nuts on Blogger! I've actually been copying and pasting into a Word document so I can check it! I am usually a good speller, but I've had a few typos in my days that I didn't catch.)

  7. Re: antibiotics and tummy troubles - stay away from sugary drinks and eat lots of yogurt (it will help to replenish the bacteria in your GI tract).

I hope you feel better soon. Being sick sucks.

  8. Oh Sarah hope you and Jack are soon feeling better.
It's strange how when we are sick the place goes to rack and ruin. Are we the only ones that clean up??

  9. Gosh Sarah, I was gonna say "When it rains, it pours!" but being it's 80 degrees that doesn't quite work. ;-) Ah well. When things suck SO BAD the good news is; it can only get better!

  10. I was going to give the same advice as Alexandra. EAT YOGURT. You should have some with each dose of antibiotic. Not a full cup each time, just a couple spoonfuls.

Gotta be careful with the stomach crud.

    Take care

  15. I hope you feel better soon! If your antibiotic says take on a full stomach, make sure you listen, and don't do what I did.I thought it wouldn't bother me, and boy was I wrong ~ it really messed me up. If it makes you feel any better, your sewing room looks much nicer than mine, and I'm healthy...

  19. I hope you feel better soon! Even amidst the craziness of your sewing room, I see so many pretty things! :)

And, we've taken probiotics when we've had to take antibiotics. I highly recommend them for replenishing the good bacteria! :)

  20. Oh my...you are having a tough ole time there...I hope the nasty meds help SOON!!! Also I hope that your tummy is made of stern stuff and you want have any more problems. I think your doing a fab job, as for the telly...well when there is illness in our house the telly usually goes on here also...there are worst things that could happen to your precious little chap. Hang in there and try not let the house upset you...when your better you can do it all in one go. Take care.

  21. Oh you poor thing- hope your feeling better by now. Usually antibiotics clear these things up fast. Is it too stalker-ish to say- I wish we were neighbors so I could bring you some soup?
Bloggers spell check isn't working? And here I thought I was improving. I better go check my own blog (or have my husband proof-read it). It's probably chock full of misspellings. Now I'm wondering if misspelling has one s or two. Never realized how much I count on spell check until now.

80 degrees in feb. is strange. that must have been kinda freaky.

  26. Oh, hope you're feeling better soon. A little extra Thomas won't hurt - you gotta do what you gotta do.

Crazy weather here too but not a balmy 80 degrees.

  28. So sorry ,its the same here. With the exception of my stomach bug at X-mas,I have been well going on about 2 years! I really take excellent care to not get sick! The back and forth with the weather and coming off an exhaustive schedule ,I think finally did me in. Heres hopin' we both get well and I finally get the laundry pile widdled down to manageable!
